ECKO TENS/EMS

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) and EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) are two forms of electrotherapy that are widely used for pain relief and muscle rehabilitation.

TENS

This technique uses low-voltage electrical currents to provide pain relief by stimulating nerves. The electrical impulses interfere with the transmission of pain signals to the brain and can increase the level of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers. TENS is primarily used for chronic pain management, such as in conditions like arthritis, back pain, and fibromyalgia.

EMS

EMS involves the application of electrical impulses to stimulate muscle contraction. This method is used to prevent muscle atrophy, enhance muscle strength and endurance, and help rehabilitate muscles following injury or surgery. It’s particularly useful for patients who are unable to perform conventional muscle strengthening exercises.
Both TENS and EMS are non-invasive, safe, and effective methods for managing pain and aiding muscle recovery. They are commonly used in physical therapy, sports medicine, and home care settings, providing a drug-free option for treatment.
